8 Things About Wrestling That Just Don’t Make Sense

1. Choosing The Weakest Wrestlers As Bodyguards

Here€™s a hypothetical situation for you: It is the 2nd of June, 2014 and you are future WWE champion Seth Rollins. You have just betrayed your closest allies The Shield and aligned yourself with The Authority. Over the next couple of months you make a lot more enemies than friends and eventually you decide that you would like some bodyguards to help protect yourself. Who do you pick? Well it€™s obvious isn€™t it? You pick two former wrestlers who spent most of their WWE careers getting beaten up by a bunch of mid-card talent. Nobody is going to mess with you now surely! Hang on a second€ This is another of those odd things that happens all the time in wrestling that always seems just a bit too strange. Yes, from a creative point of view it makes some sense to use talent, that might otherwise not receive any screen time, as supporting characters for a main superstar. However from a storyline point of view? I mean are we really supposed to believe that wrestlers like Seth Rollins are any better off by hanging out with a few guys who get their asses handed to them every time they try to offer protection? It just doesn€™t make sense!
