8 Things We Learned From Ryback On Talk Is Jericho

7. Passion For Wrestling

Ryback's first memory of wrestling is of Hulk Hogan and Andre The Giant when he was five years-old and followed the business all throughout his life. He tells a great story about winning a contest to be the guest bell ringer at a WWE show when he was 12, sitting ringside all night long while guys like Razor Ramon, Bret Hart and Diesel performed in the squared circle. That was when Ryback knew he wanted to be a pro wrestler. With WWE's current MO of recruiting college athletes who aren't lifelong fans, it's refreshing to hear someone speak so reverently of the business that all of us fans have enjoyed for the majority of our lives.
