8 Things We Learned From Ryback On Talk Is Jericho
2. CM Punk Accusations
This is the part of the interview everyone was waiting for, anxious to hear The Big Guy's thoughts on CM Punk's comments and accusations about Ryback being an unsafe worker and Punk confronting him about it. He says he first heard about Punk's comments on Colt Cabana's podcast when his Twitter timeline started blowing up, then a friend of his called him to let him know what UFC's newest acquisition had to say. Ryback takes the high road here, refusing to bury Punk and being nothing but complimentary. He says that he always like Punk and though they had good matches together, with Punk never being negative to his face. Regarding the alleged confrontation where Punk says he approached him backstage and admonished him, telling him to admit he was "dumb as f*ck", Ryback says that never happened and never would happen. "I went and heard part of it. Punk was always good to me when he was here and I felt I was good to him. He was never like that to my face and I felt we always had good matches for the most part on the live events. To leave and say the things he said, I try not to take anything personal anymore. So whatever he's going through, if he feels the need to say that, I can tell you it's not true." Ryback adds that if he was truly as unsafe as Punk made him out to be then WWE wouldn't trust him to be in the ring with their performers, especially top guys like John Cena and Daniel Bryan. "I don't understand if it's a personal thing with me. I don't know but I have no ill feeling towards the guy, I wish him the best."
