8 Things We Learned From GFW's Ed Nordholm On Wrestling Observer Radio

4. They're Not Selling Their Video Library

WWE's name always comes up when it looks like GFW are in trouble, and last week was no different. Vince McMahon's promotion were named atop the list of potential suitors, but it's thought that WWE are only interest in GFW's lengthy tape library, and would close the company down immediately after purchasing.

The thought of old TNA and Impact shows appearing on the WWE Network sounds great, but Nordholm was quick to shut this talk down. Ed stated that Anthem have no interest whatsoever in selling their footage to McMahon. He knows how much WWE would monetise the content for, and feels GFW can earn more money by uploading it to their own network, so it doesn't make business sense for them. Meltzer agreed with this point, and Nordholm added he'd only consider such a move if GFW was going through liquidation and Anthem were purging the company of its assets.

The idea of this footage making it to the WWE Network always seemed fanciful, and now that GFW's own video streaming service is on its way, it has never looked less likely. It's clear that the only way McMahon will ever get his hands on the tapes is if GFW finally goes bust.
