8 Things We Learned From GFW's Ed Nordholm On Wrestling Observer Radio

3. Nordholm Isn't A Wrestling Fan

Outsiders have always had a rough ride in the wrestling business. It's an outdated tradition, but the sport's lifers often treat those they don't see as "one of them" with an element of suspicion, and there are plenty of stories to back this up.

Nordholm is no different. Anthem's reign has been rife with suggestions that Ed doesn't "get" the business, and is out of his element. Unfortunately, his Wrestling Observer Radio appearance will only add weight to this argument, particularly his description of his background in the sport.

While Ed stated that his grandmother used to take him to wrestling shows when he was growing up, he hasn't followed the sport since he was "very young." He just wasn't a fan of it beyond his early childhood, and while he was always aware of GFW's existence through their working relationship with Anthem's Fight Network, he didn't actively follow the product.

When asked about why he was chosen to head Global Force's revival, Nordholm stated that he "just happened to be the guy with the most experience in dealing with troubled companies." This should serve him well, but his naivety towards the wrestling business will only make his critics louder.
