8 Things We Learned From WWE Chronicle: Paige

1. She Was Lucky To Not Be Paralysed

The vice was really tightened on our emotions during the documentary's closing moments, when - as we all knew - Paige's big comeback came to a crashing halt.

Watching Paige break down in floods of tears as not just her career, but effectively her entire life was cruelly snatched away from her was excruciating - and you imagine having a camera shoved under her leaking nose probably didn't help things.

Still, such is the nature of these Cromwellian features. Besides which, quite a bit of it is probably exaggerated; were the film crew really invited to eavesdrop on the phone call to her parents?

As the devastated anti-Diva is explaining the situation to her badly-acting mum and dad, she mentions WWE's chief physician Dr. Joseph Maroon told her she was lucky not to be paralysed - and that even if she had the operation, she wouldn't wrestle again.

Not even a brief Royal Rumble cameo to help promote a particular movie? We'll see...

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
