8 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Adam Cole

3. He Loves Playing The Bad Guy

It’s hard to be a truly effective heel these days. While guys like Braun Strowman and Kevin Owens are presented with few redeeming features, they’re so great at their jobs that the fans inevitably cheer them, thus blurring the alignment scale. Cole fits into this category too, but while his crowd reactions are always split down the middle, he loves playing the bad guy, and has been an antagonist for most of his career.

Cole has stated that as a kid, he was always enthralled by James Bond villains and the ways in which audiences were compelled to loathe their arrogant personalities. Furthermore, he’s a huge fan of the freedom of expression given to heels, as babyfaces are restricted to adhering to a refined set of traits to convince audiences to like them, while bad guys can essentially get away with saying and doing whatever they please.

He’d likely draw major pops from Full Sail University’s smarky crowd but that isn’t necessarily a problem. Cole’s wrestling persona is slimy and loathsome enough for him to be a great foil for any of WWE’s current babyfaces, and if he’s put against the right opposition, he’ll soar regardless of whether he’s booed or not.
