8 Things WWE Got Wrong At Clash Of Champions 2016

2. Where Now, Rusev?

Funnily enough, I have little problem with Roman Reigns winning the United States Championship. A run as a fighting champion in the middle of the card could do wonders for his reputation either way, much as it did for John Cena last year. Reigns defending the strap on a weekly basis against the likes of Sami Zayn, Neville, Darren Young and Karl Anderson is just what the doctor ordered.

The issue now lies with the Bulgarian Brute. Where does Rusev go from here? For the second year in succession Rusev has been dominated in one-sided feuds over the United States Championship against company golden boys. The Plovdiv Pillager followed up a feud with Cena last year with an absolutely dire story with Dolph Ziggler, and I fear for the man now.

What next? Selfie wars with R-Truth?

It is back to the drawing board once again for Rusev, although there are only so many times it can be edited before the ceiling is hit.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
