1. The Contract Ladder Match Was Outstanding
WWE.comAny time you can get a match of the year contender on a PPV then it has to be considered the highlight of that show. The contract ladder match was supposed to feature seven performers, but after Bad News Barrett suffered a legit shoulder injury at the Smackdown tapings last Tuesday they decided to just go with six guys. It proved to be a wise decision. There were so many great moments as Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston did a number of impressive athletic spots. Kingston landing on the top rope after getting knocked off the ladder was great by itself, but then he did a dive outside the ring. Jack Swagger filled the role of the power guy. Even though Rob Van Dam is in his 40s he still put his body on the line a number of times. The stars of the match were Rollins and Ambrose, but the other guys came through too. There was some controversy towards the end of the match as Kane showed up to prevent Ambrose from winning. He dropped him with a Chokeslam and Tombstone. That led to Rollins climbing up for the win. While the way they did it wasn't clean, it did advance a storyline. If WWE wants to hold off on Rollins vs. Ambrose for SummerSlam they could do Kane vs. Ambrose at Battleground. That would make a lot of sense. Was it the match of the year? Probably not, but it's a contender. All six of these guys deserve a lot of credit for stealing the show at Money in the Bank.
