2. John Cena's Win Will Get People Talking
https://twitter.com/JohnCena/status/483706188329414656 We all know that John Cena is the most polarizing figure in WWE and because of that his WWE Title win was something that pleased some fans while infuriating others. What is for sure is that people will have an opinion about it. For the Cena haters, if you think people are going to stop watching because he won the WWE Title then you probably don't look at history. He's still doing really well in merchandise numbers (Paul Heyman said on Jericho's podcast last week that nobody was close to him), attendance is strong whenever he's on a show and the ratings have been solid too. It's not like anybody in WWE is really doing anything huge to draw ratings anyway. From WWE's perspective, what they can do is push the idea that Cena is the greatest champion in the history of WWE after his 15th WWE/World Title win. The recognized North American record is the 16 World Titles that Ric Flair won even though some of them were the result of awful booking in WCW. The rumors were that Cena would face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Title at SummerSlam. Now that the gold is in Cena's possession again it looks like it's going to happen. For WWE, that's what is best for business.
