8 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Bubba Ray Dudley
4. He Spent Nearly 10 Years In TNA Wrestling
If you only watch WWE programming then you might not know what TNA Wrestling is. They never mention it. They are not really WWE's competition, but it's a place where wrestlers can work. That's where Bubba was for most of the last ten years. His TNA run started in September 2005 and ended in August 2014. Since WWE owned the Dudleys name, he couldn't go by Bubba Ray Dudley there, so he performed as Brother Ray. They used the name "Team 3D" for the team since they couldn't say Dudley Boys. The tag team name fit because their Dudley Death Drop finishing move was known as the 3D, so it made a lot of sense. In late 2010, he became a singles wrestler and the Bully Ray persona took off. He was one of the best heels in all of wrestling. The guy just knew how to upset the crowd. He relished. Some heels want to be cool. He was old school in the way that he could draw heat. Within a couple of years, he had moved to the top as the TNA World Heavyweight Champion and undisputed top guy in the company. When Bubba came back to WWE at the Royal Rumble they mentioned he was back after being away for ten years. Don't expect them to tell you where he was.
