8 Things You Didn't Know About WWE's Mansoor

5. His Greatest Royal Rumble Experience

Last April's Greatest Royal Rumble was a pretty dreadful experience for most industry observers, but it was a lifetime highlight for a star-struck Mansoor.

On a night of dark moments, one of the most dismal saw WWE exploit prevalent international tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran - the civilian lives lost in the two countries' enduring proxy-war no real concern to them - for an ill-judged and not even entertaining exchange between a group of paraded Saudi trainees and the evil Tehran tuplet of Ariya and Shawn Daivari. Amongst the throng beating down the brothers was Mansoor, clearly already ear-marked as a regional role model.

The newbie felt no compunction whatsoever about the angle's poor taste, instead describing it as "pretty much the highest point I've ever felt in my life." Although he only had two lines to recite, it was nevertheless an immensely anxious moment. "I knew if I botched the first thing I ever said to the world in a WWE ring I wouldn’t be able to live with myself." He didn't. Hurray, we guess.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
