8 Times AEW's Tony Khan Was A GOD-TIER Booker

6. Toni Storm Becomes Timeless

Toni Storm has become one of pro wrestling's most beloved performers under the stewardship of Tony "Anthony" Khan. After asking for her WWE release after being famously humiliated by Charlotte Flair and a custard pie on the November 26th, 2021 episode of SmackDown, Storm has been a revelation for AEW and has become one of the greatest characters in all of wrestling.

Storm's appeal goes beyond promos that range from hilarious to moving, fantastic matches, and bitter feuds. She has a stunning ability to speak up for the queer and marginalised communities within wrestling's fanbase without breaking character or provoking the worst mouth-breathers in the IWC. Her 'Timeless' gimmick echoes the stiff upper lip machismo of Cary Grant, the glamour of Elizabeth Taylor, and somehow makes it work in the modern era.

Her feud with Mariah May is rightfully considered her finest hour to date. May's betrayal made fans feel so greatly because of the love they had for Storm. Her "what makes you think that I have forgotten?" promo on the January 25th, 2025 episode of Collision is a contender for the best promo in AEW history. Toni Storm is sensational, but Tony Khan deserves enormous credit for treating her as one of AEW's biggest stars and encouraging her to find and accentuate her greatness.
