'Hangman' Adam Page has a real connection with AEW fans. He has managed to subtly alter his character over the years, constantly adding depth to his character as the years roll on. That being said, there was something special about his run as the 'Anxious Millennial Cowboy'.

Wrestling has never had a character who struggled with accepting friendship and imposter syndrome so believably. It's had plenty of guys who've been given angles where they've struggled with addiction, but the nuance of Page using alcohol as a coping mechanism felt real and relatable. Throw in that his best friends in The Elite discarding him, making his fears of not being good enough a reality, and this story felt so raw and human that it was as compelling as pro wrestling gets.

The Dark Order would love 'Hangman' until he had to accept it. Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Don Callis would torture him mercilessly. Omega's world championship reign (and best AEW run to date) would prove a constant reminder to 'Hangman' that he wasn't championship material, until Full Gear 2021 would provide AEW's best moment to date. 'Hangman' finally got Omega one-on-one. The Young Bucks went from bullies to being unable to look Page in the eye, as Adam Page delivered a thunderous Buckshot Lariat to become AEW World Champion for the first time, and Tony Khan gave AEW its first WrestleMania-sized moment.
