8 Times Dolph Ziggler Has Nearly Sabotaged His WWE Career
7. Refusing To Tone Down His Style
In response to the criticism stirred up by the deaths of Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero and countless others as well as the focused spotlight on concussion awareness, WWE has made a concentrated effort to reduce the amount of trauma that their performers endure in the ring. Theyve banned chairshots to the head and various moves that are considered high impact on at-risk areas of the body. Weve also seen a slowing down of the WWE wrestling style, where performers like Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler have been asked to tone it down and reduce the risks they put their body through. As Seth Rollins just learned, even the most routine manoeuvre can cause a catastrophic injury so theres no reason to push the issue. Unfortunately, Dolph Ziggler seems unwilling to comply with this request. There have been several reports that the office has requested that he ease off in the ring but Ziggler who likely views that as cheapening his performance refuses to do so and goes 100 mph in every match. His selling can be a bit comical at times, with Ziggler bumping for shoulderblocks like he was pushed in front of a train and doing 180 flips off of clotheslines. The fans find it entertaining though and Ziggler takes that role seriously. Hopefully he heeds the warning before he suffers another serious injury that gives him another setback in his career, or worse yet, WWE decides its too risky to have him on the roster.
