8 Times Legendary Wrestling Moments Were Reversed

1. Austin And Rock Trash Each Other’s Titles

After deciding he didn’t want to whoop The Rock’s ass yet again, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin famously forfeited the Intercontinental Championship to Rocky in December 1997. While Austin also proclaimed how he had bigger fish to fry – as in, the WWF Heavyweight Championship – that didn't he was going to make life easy for The Great One.

Famously, after handing over the belt, Stone Cold would lay The Rock out with a Stunner before making off with the IC Title. Not content with simply leaving his long-time rival laying, fans were treated to one of the greatest moments in Raw history as Austin threw the Intercontinental Championship off a nearby bridge into the murky, cold waters below. Meanwhile, The Brahma Bull was left aghast in the middle of the ring, delivering some priceless facials to all of this.

Jumping forward 18 months, and this iconic moment would be reversed as it was The Rock disrespecting The Texas Rattlesnake’s patented Smoking Skull belt, aka the WWF Championship. Ahead of their meeting at that year’s Backlash event, The Corporate Champion not only threw Austin’s title to a watery fate… The Rock went one better by throwing Stone Cold in the river before throwing the gold in after him.
