8 Times The Rock Proved He CAN Cut A Bad Promo

4. The Road To WrestleMania Goes Through...Debra?

When The Rock has something he really wants to say, he says it simply, directly, and with a whole lotta oomph. Other times he's just bobbing and weaving, throwing jokes and goofing with the interviewer. Both of those versions of The Rock tend to make for a good promo.

But this third version of The Rock - the one who has something only moderately interesting to say but feels the need to draw it out for an unforgivable amount of time - also showed up from time to time.

It's not until you actually listen to the way he constructs his sentences - repeating phrases, jumbling his words - that it becomes clear he's lost the thread of his promo. Pay close attention to this video clip around the 2 minute mark:

"Let The Rock ask you one question - just one question - and that question is this: Is can you accept the fact that in weeks from now, April 1st, WrestleMania 17, the biggest of all time, The Rock and Stone Cold, the biggest of all time, Debra, can you accept the fact that you can't stop - CAN'T STOP - The Rock from whipping your husband's candy ass!?"

He picks up steam and manages to end on a high note, but it was certainly a bumpy - and far too lengthy - road getting there.
