Two years passed, and once again Kane was involved in an individual eliminating themselves from the Royal Rumble. This time it wasn't the Big Red Machine ending his own night at the Rumble, or in fact an actual wrestler. No, the 2001 Royal Rumble saw the infamous appearance of Drew Carey in the match, an actor and comedian who managed to last longer in the Rumble that year than Big Show, Faarooq, The Godfather and Tazz.

Combined.

Drew was in the match for two minutes and 54 seconds, although the majority of that was spent standing around smiling. The WWE Hall of Famer watched on as Matt & Jeff Hardy conspired to eliminate each other, leaving the actor as the lone man standing. Who was the next entrant? The crowd counted from 10, the buzzer sounded, and Drew Carey's bowels got a little lighter.

Luckily for Carey, Kane spent over a minute coming down to ringside and circling the ring, before entering an setting off his own pyro. Drew still had to survive, and tried to do so by bribing the Devil's Favourite Demon. Before Drew could be no more, Raven entered as the next participant, allowing Carey to escape and quickly get out of harm's way.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
