8 Times Wrestlers Eliminated Themselves From The Royal Rumble

The last man to eliminate himself from the Royal Rumble, MVP could most certainly be forgiven for allowing the red mist to descend over his eyes. MVP had come up short against The Miz earlier in the night with the United States Championship on the line, but it was Miz who made the first move during the Rumble itself. As MVP was making his way t the ring he was blindsided by the then-champ, seemingly unable to enter.

Miz would officially enter the match two participants later, and although he managed to hit Carlito with a Skull Crushing Finale that would all he did in the bout, as MVP hit the ring to get him some. MVP clotheslined Miz over the top rope, taking himself over in the process and ending his night for good. It was an attempt to inject some heat into the MVP/Miz feud that was floundering somewhat, a program that could have worked wonders for MVP but ended up just continuing Miz's rise to the top.

Seven years have passed, and we still await a ninth name to join this list. Will someone succumb to stupidity this year and remove themselves from the match? With a potential championship match at WrestleMania on the line, will the red mist cloud the logic of a competitor and lead to them end their own night prematurely? Time will tell.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
