8 Times Wrestlers Levelled Up INSTANTLY!

Those moments when wrestlers took things to an entirely different level.

Wrestling is all about moments. Any given superstar can find a catchphrase, a new gimmick, or a new look that helps them find a new level of greatness for themselves and an irresistible connection for the audience.

Over the course of the last decade, WWE has also stopped being the only commercially viable game in town, enabling talent to jump ship and find their successful new groove in a new company. This isn't to say that WWE isn't responsible for its fair share of glow-ups either. Sometimes, it just takes a creative team to find a new angle for a superstar and for that talent to be given the ball to run it. Other times, it's a wrestler trusting their own instincts and being allowed some freedom. Heck, sometimes fate even intervenes, and an injury or unfortunate circumstance can enable the audience to have a new perspective on any given superstar.

Whatever the reason, the following is a list of those moments where wrestlers have found their power and never looked back. It just goes to show that almost every wrestler has a level of greatness inside them, just waiting to reveal itself under the right circumstances.

8. Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley
AEW

Jon Moxley is the first name people mention when talking about AEW's best-ever signing. He is always engaging, he knows who he is and where he's going at all times, he's been a valiant babyface, a dastardly heel, and even when he's somewhere between the two (as he is currently), Moxley is one of the most perfect all-round performers in wrestling.

This is worth remembering because the last few years of Dean Ambrose were miserable. His wacky antics were so misguided, and Vince McMahon and his creative team had misunderstood Ambrose's character and motivations so badly that he often felt like Art the Clown had been cast in the MCU. It wasn't that Ambrose's performances were bad. It was more that the things he was being asked to do didn't fit the psychotic, loose-canon personality he portrayed at his best.

From trying to suffocate Bryan Danielson with a plastic bag to him leading The Death Riders like a sadistic drill sergeant, nothing Moxley has done at his best fits the cuddlier WWE landscape. No matter how badly you might think you want a Shield reunion, Jon Moxley has found his groove and is exactly where he is supposed to be.
