3. Lana Gets 'Slut-Shamed'

The most recent example of WWE exorcising their 'right' to punish talent on-screen for backstage indiscretions. Once WWE and Vince McMahon's favourite diva, Lana has found herself falling further and further out of favour ever since she leaked details of her and Rusev's real-life engagement via social media, ruining a storyline.

As well as the kayfabe-crushing Instagram posts, The Ravishing Russian also drew fire for outing fellow diva Paige as a bully on Twitter. She went from the next Trish Stratus to the next Carmella Decesare in record time. She wasn't absent on TV and her push was thrown off the table. Of course, that wasn't enough for WWE...

No, they had to take it one step further and scripted returning hero The Rock to tear her character to shreds during a drawn-out backstage segment. The People's Champ insinuated that he and Lana had sex, running through the various positions before wishing her and Rusev a happy marriage and saying that Rusev was a lucky guy because Lana was 'flexible as all hell'.

For many, it was just The Rock being The Rock, entertaining at the expense of a female performer the way he had many times in the past during interactions with Stephanie McMahon, Trish Stratus and Lilian Garcia. This isn't the Attitude Era, though, and it was clear by the tone of the segment that WWE were punishing Lana (apparently due to an altercation she and Rusev had at an airport).
