8 Times WWE Recycled Show Names

4. Royal Rumble

WWE threw all notions of continuity (ha!) and dignity to the wall last April when they announced that there'd be a second Royal Rumble in 2018 - just four months after the first - and that it'd be the definitive version of Pat Patterson's timeless classic.

It wasn't. The so-called 'Greatest' Royal Rumble was an inexplicably bloated mess, the longest match in WWE history and the longest banter match in the history of the entire sport, most notable for a sumo wrestler so obscure he didn't even know who himself was and Titus O'Neil falling over. The name also meant that, by logical definition, every subsequent Royal Rumble can be nothing but subpar.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
