8 Times WWE Tried (And Failed) To Make The Roman Reigns Experiment Work

After his victory over The Undertaker resulted in the loudest boos he'd ever received, WWE could have responded by finally turning Reigns heel. Instead, they decided to spend the rest of the year making him seem like a more sympathetic character to once again try and drum up some support for him — as he suffered vicious beat-downs and yes, even losses to Braun Strowman. This on again/off again feud eventually led to the reunion of The Shield at the end of the year.

Reuniting Reigns with major fan-favourites Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose nearly worked, as all three of them received a rapturous response when together — though the same could not be said when Reigns got in front of a microphone. Unfortunately, sickness and injuries plagued the team and The Shield's reunion tour was short-lived — and as a result, so were Roman's cheers.
