8 Times WWE's Rules Didn't Apply To Brock Lesnar
7. The OVW Steroid Shipment
Though Brock Lesnar has never been stung by WWE's Wellness Policy (more on that later...), a 2001 arrest for suspected steroid possession blots his copybook.
Lesnar was 26 years old and going through the Ohio Valley Wrestling developmental territory at the time. The Louisville Division of Police took him in after he'd allegedly received and opened a parcel filled with "a large amount of steroids," and, as such, hit him with a controlled substances charge, though the case was dismissed four months later.
Test showed that the pills weren't steroids, but a growth hormone supplement. Brock's lawyer, meanwhile, said they were vitamins. How's that for consistency?
Former OVW booker/co-owner Jim Cornette dived into the story in a January 2017 episode of his podcast, claiming that he tried to liaise with the police in order to keep Lesnar from getting into trouble with his employers. It must have worked. Though Cornette cited a string of poor decisions Brock made in developmental, he escaped this incident without punishment, and had even worked several main roster dark matches by the end of the year, before escaping developmental forever in 2002.
