8 UFC Records That Will Be Broken (And 8 That Won't)

Record: Khabib Nurmagomedov - 21

Next Best: Sean Sherk - 16

The Eagle is nothing short of a grappling and wrestling machine, purpose built to pummel people in the most brutal way possible. There's literally video footage of him training as a CHILD by - and I can't make this up - wrestling a god damn BEAR!

Growing up in Dagestan and becoming a Combat Sambo champion in Russia meant that when Nurmagomedov made his way to the UFC, he became a grappling nightmare for his opposition.

This was never more evident than during his performance at UFC 160, just his fourth fight in the company, where he proceeded to land an astonishing 21 takedowns on his hapless opponent Abel Trujillo, averaging seven takedowns every single round.

He broke Sean Sherk's long-standing record of 16, but Sherk and third-place Demetrious Johnson (14) crafted their records in a full five rounds. Khabib did it in just three.

The reason this still sits under the WILL banner of records, is because the record will likely be broken - by Khabib himself.

There's a very strong chance that if Nurmagomedov ever manages to get past three rounds, against the right opponent, he could be looking at the previously unheard of 30 mark.

The only man that can beat The Eagle, is The Eagle himself, and there's no reason why he can't with the amount of experience and power the Russian possesses at this stage of his career.
