7. Journey 3: From Earth To The Moon (2016)

Following on from 2012's modestly successful Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, this one would have Johnson reprise his role as step-dad extraordinaire Hank. The plot departs earth's stratosphere for an adventure to the moon, which without sounding condescending, does rekindle images of Wallace & Gromit. Series regulars Anna Colwell and Josh Hutcherson are also attached. Journey 3 is currently pegged for a 2016 release, but that's probably not going to happen. If production commenced today, Universal would be able to get the film off the ground in time, but with Johnson and director Brad Peyton busy elsewhere, that's not going to occur. Truthfully, whilst the last film did reasonable business, this is exactly the sort of title I could see exiting Johnson's slate shortly. When he made the last one in 2012, his star was on the rise, but not at the top level it is today. It feels like the actor has since elevated above this project. I wouldn't hold my breath for this one, at least a version of which that stars Johnson.
