3. Shazam! (2019)

Every star's gotta get involved with the superhero boom these days, and Johnson's no different. He's tagged to become part of the expanding DC Universe in 2019's Shazam! Johnson will play Black Adam in Shazam!, nemesis of the titular and as of yet uncast hero. The film will reportedly be lighter than other projects under the DC umbrella, which is good news for Johnson fans, who'll know the star favours a mix of comedy and action. I can't ever recall the actor playing a villain though (The Mummy Returns exempted), so that should see Johnson stretch a little, even if it's in a comedic paradigm. This one's pretty much a cert. Like Marvel before them, DC have mapped out a universe integral to their future business plan. Black Adam is part of that plan, so unless Johnson pulls out, this thing should easily make its 2019 bow. It's unlikely the actor would leave the project either, as not only are comic-books big business, but he's stayed attached alongside a conveyor-belt of writers and directors since 2008. It's safe to say he really wants to get Shazam! made. No director is currently attached to this version though. Shazam! is eyeing a 5th April 2019 release.
