In what might have been the weirdest build to a WrestleMania in memory, Brock Lesnar vs Oba Femi was one of the few rivalries that felt worthy of the occasion in the build to the biggest show of the year. The spontaneous nature of the booking, plus the sheer sight of the biggest monster of the 21st century meeting the man who will take that mantle into the future, always brought a feeling of grandeur to proceedings.

While most predicted Oba to emerge victorious in Las Vegas, nobody predicted Brock Lesnar to end the match by appearing to retire. It was shockingly emotional, but also surrounded by ambiguous words from the commentary team and lashings of cynicism from the online wrestling community, who believe that this isn't the end of Lesnar's WWE career.

With SummerSlam taking place in a stadium in Brock’s home state of Minnesota, many expect The Beast Incarnate to return and retire at The Hottest Party of the Summer. The problem is that the audience is likely to revolt against any opponent and Lesnar himself after feeling duped by his emotional goodbye at WrestleMania. The smart money would obviously be on the Career Killer, Gunther, to be Brock’s opponent if he does return to the ring for one final hurrah, but the risk of fans rebelling against Brock (especially with the Janel Grant trial looming this summer) feels like this could be a non-starter.
