8 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dark (Oct 15)

7. The Librarians' New Home

Fair play to All Elite for reading the general reaction to The Librarians' presentation and acting accordingly, with Peter Avalon and Leva Bates now firmly established as a preliminary act.

Their goofy comedy just wasn't resonating early on. It was one of the more worrying examples of Being The Elite's worst tendencies creeping into AEW and didn't bode well for the future, but the bookers deserve credit for fixing it. Now, Bates and Avalon are working their shtick on Dark and pay-per-view pre-shows, eating pins left, right, and centre, which is exactly how it should be.

Both are fine performers who absolutely have a place in AEW, but the gimmick only works at this level. They'll be fine on Dark.
