8 Ups & 1 Down From Impact Wrestling (Jul 7)

1. Those Productions Levels

When it comes to having a great wrestling show, the stories being told need to make sense 90% of the time at the very least, and the wrestlers involved need to be able to put in a good performance. However, both of those things may not matter quite as much as the production levels, something that Impact Wrestling pay a good chunk of attention to.

The promo video that aired for the Slammiversary World Championship match was simply marvelous. Impact did a terrific job in establishing all three announced competitors in this one video, in particular, Eddie Edwards and Trey. Eddie has had a long road to walk since he last won the World Championship in 2016 thanks to his intense rivalries with Sami Callihan and fellow challenger Ace Austin, while Trey talked on a similar note of how 'The One True Ace' made his life living hell towards the end of 2019, and into this year, involving Mrs Miguel in the story also.

As for Ace, he again put himself on a pedestal far higher above both Eddie and Trey. Already the second youngest X Division Champion in history, Ace is now faced with the opportunity of becoming the youngest Impact World Champion of all-time. In typical Ace Austin fashion, he doesn't even see Eddie, Trey, nor the mystery entrant as a threat, which is a fair comment to make when you've got Madman Fulton watching your back.

There wasn't anything to complain about here. Impact's promo packages are always excellent - this was no different.
