7. Good Brothers, Good Match

The Bludgeon Brothers finally got new number one contenders to their SmackDown Tag Team Titles last night.

It was former champions The Usos vs. two friendly fellows and their failing follicles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Coming in at a concise 5 minutes 25 seconds, the match barely had a chance to break out of third gear, but it was fine regardless. Jimmy and Jey could likely work a decent TV bout with a couple of inflatable dolls at this point. Put them in there with a solid team like the Good Brothers, and good action is all but guaranteed, regardless of the runtime.

There were a couple of nice touches along the way. Gallows bellowing "NEEEEEEEEERRRRD!" is always a hoot, so when he did it as a response to the "Uso penitentiary" shtick, this writer popped. Him and Anderson winning was a nice surprise, too. The Usos have been in the title hunt for an eternity, while the Good Brothers haven't really done much of anything since losing the Raw belts last year. It's something different, and who knows - maybe if WWE are serious about promoting Gallows and Anderson's relationship with AJ Styles, they'll get a nice little run at some point.
