8 Ups & 1 Down From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (May 22)

6. An Okay Miz TV

Last night's Miz TV fell into a low quality percentile as far as 'The Most Must-See WWE Talk Show In History' goes, which is to say it was solid, but far from great.

This is largely down to the content. All it accomplished was the Big E vs. Miz singles match, with WWE pulling the New Day/Money In The Bank reveal away. This makes it borderline filler, but the performances were fun, and 'The A-Lister' was his usual excellent self, tying himself in knots as E, Kingston, and Woods' refusal to cooperate gnawed away at his patience.

The New Day brought big banter too, taking it in turns to name each other when Miz demanded MITB answers, then teasing E as the ladder match participant, before flipping that into the one-on-one. The sight of them showering 'The A-Lister' with pancakes as he left the ring was a beautiful, beautiful visual.

In a direct continuation of the segment, Miz ran into Paige backstage, and she ordered him back out for the match. A nice little touch, and a flip on the usual format.
