1. Gonzalez Retains, But Li Legit Takes A Stiff Senton

You're never going to go wrong when you pit an absolute monster against a smaller, but rather fast and highly accurate, striker. And that's precisely what we were treated with when Xia li challenged for Raquel Gonzalez's NXT Women's Championship in last night's main event.

In the early stages, it seemed like business as usual for the champ as she smashed and pulverised her challenger like a helpless ragdoll, with a particularly nasty big boot being the pick of the sickening bunch. Yet, Li had more than a few tricks up her sleeve and it wasn't long before Gonzalez was suckered in for another big boot against the post, only to have that knee exposed and obliterated by the Chinese star's collection of effective kicks.

This knee domination continued for the majority of the contest as Li appeared to have Gonzalez's number despite leaving the rest of Tian Sha at home. Sadly, a thoroughly enjoyable back-and-forth was suddenly overshadowed by Li getting genuinely hurt by an explosive spinning senton from Big Mami Cool. The extended pause in action added tension, sure, but it also took away much of the match's momentum and the edge away from Gonzalez's eventual victory once Li was given the go ahead to continue.

Thankfully, li is said to be OK, but you have to feel for a star who has been putting in beautifully violent displays for some time now having her big moment extinguished by an unexpectedly stiff landing. Even with that, though, another match between these two down the line would likely be more than accepted by those watching on.
