2. Knight Forces Grimes To Do A Dastardly Deed

Continuing on from last week's hilarious antics, LA Knight and Cameron Grimes rolled into the NXT car park last night, with the pair bickering over the route they took to the building. A passing Drake Maverick then attempted to help the Million Dollar Butler with Knight's bags, only for the d*ck*sh heel to push back against this assistance and demand a match with the heroic underdog.

The match itself was your typical plucky star getting the better of the arrogant heel contest, with Knight focused more on the way Grimes was presenting his title than the adversary he clearly underestimated opposite him. This overlooking of the task at hand ultimately led to Maverick dropkicking the former Eli Drake into his dazzling belt and rolling him up for the win. Yet, that upset only paved the way for the segment's real drama.

After evidently being the most over man in the building on the night, Grimes was forced to smack Maverick in the face by his cruel boss. The way this all played out was crafted to perfection; just when it seemed like Grimes was going to push back and give Knight the comeuppance he deserved, he devastatingly remembered his obligations and did the dastardly deed.

Despite it looking like NXT were set to throw away this implosion way too early, that thankfully wasn't the case. And instead we got another bit of fuel to add to the fire that will eventually roar Grimes to the top of the mountain at a later date.
