8 Ups & 2 Downs For WWE SmackDown Superstar Shake-Up

5. Bludgeons Gonna Bludgeon

The gimmick is corny, the hammers goofy, and the attire ugly, but The Bludgeon Brothers are thriving, and the bookers are doing a solid job of presenting them as WWE's most dominant tag team.

They made short work of The Usos and New Day at WrestleMania, and continued their rampage through the division last night. It was Harper vs. Jey in singles competition. In a different environment (one with a longer runtime), this could be an absolute banger, but that wasn't what this particular situation called for. Harper needed to smash his smaller foe in order to maintain his and Rowan's dominance, and he ended up putting Jey away in under a minute.

It came from a distraction, with Jimmy and Rowan fighting on the outside, but it worked perfectly. Wrestling often functions best with a clear food chain. Though The Usos are one of the best tag teams in the world, this is The Bludgeon Brothers' time, and it's now up to Jimmy and Jey to endure these beatdowns, solve this new puzzle, and come out stronger.

A post-match mauling was on the cards, too, but Naomi ran out to save her husband. The Bludgeons left, but their issues with The Usos are far from resolved. More of this, please.
