8 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dark (Nov 19)

5. Dustin Shines On Commentary

Dustin Rhodes
AEW

'The Natural' is not only a great pro-wrestling nickname but exactly what Dustin Rhodes is in every facet of this business. There's nothing he can't do, he's at least good at everything, and proved it again with a great performance alongside Excalibur in the Dark announce booth.

Unable to compete after Jake Hager's assault the other week, Dustin entered a genuinely funny performance. Whether he was jokingly shilling his own merch or ribbing his age, he was charming and endearing without detracting from the action, and also put great effort into getting the performers, their skills, and their storylines over. Honestly, seeing him take this position on a semi-regular basis would be welcome.

While Rhodes constantly told us he was learning on the job while working with Excalibur, he seemed incredibly relaxed throughout. He's warm, welcoming, and a compliment to the product, and may now have given him another potential career path whenever he hangs up his boots.
