8 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (30 June)

1. Farewell, Daily's Place

Unfortunate Jim Ross botch aside ("WWE Dynamite" was pretty funny, admittedly - but poor Jim), last night's closing segment hit hard.

With AEW preparing to head back out on the road for the first time in 15 months, the promotion aired a video package showcasing everything that had gone down in Daily's Place since the pandemic's onset. From Cody Rhodes' first empty arena promo and Sting's debut through the tragic loss of Brodie Lee, his tribute show, and -1 standing in the ring with his father's boots, this covered everything and then some.

Production-wise, it was WWE calibre. The package looked, sounded, and felt like a blockbuster. Whoever put it together deserves all the credit in the world for giving Daily's Place the sendoff it deserved.

And if you didn't at least feel your eyes welling up at -1 holding the TNT Championship, you might want to check you're still human.

Daily's Place became AEW's home through the pandemic. The building helped the promotion navigate an unprecedented challenge early in its lifespan. Whenever they come back, it's going to be special. Jacksonville is AEW's rock. Would the promotion even exist had it not had access to such a convenient facility when the world started shutting down?

Who knows, but it's time to hit the road now.
