8 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (30 June)

3. Lemmy Omega Bids You Adieu

Kenny Omega
AEW

Between the Young Bucks' moustaches and Kenny Omega's Lemmy chops, this was a great night for tremendous facial hair. All we need now is for The Butcher to return and show these little punks how it's really done.

D*ckhead Kenny was in fine form in obnoxiously running through everyone he has beaten as AEW World Champion and granting himself time off by asserting there was nothing left to do. Out came The Dark Order, with Evil Uno talking Hangman Page up for the spot, opening the group to mockery from Kenny (whose "LITTLE VIDEO-GAME PLAYING TWERPS!" was glorious, considering his recreational habits) and later, rage from Hangman himself.

Page's character arc continues to be compelling. Unable to conceal his anxiety, he hurriedly shooed Alex Marvez away from a question on Omega a few weeks ago. Last night, he got p*ssed at the Order for speaking up on his behalf without asking him first.

Colt Cabana is right when he says that Hangman isn't scared of Omega, but of failure. Their tag team's split and Page's singles loss to the World Champion last year sent him spiralling. It's now time for him to confront that, and the next few months will be about him finding the will to fight.

The Anxious Millennial Cowboy rides on.
