8 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Full Gear 2020

4. Out Motherf*cker The Man

MJF Chris Jericho
AEW

This told a neat, concise story that was executed well coming out of the Elite Deletion, and they went for comfortably for the most interesting conclusion too. MJF pulled an Eddie Guerrero, hitting the deck while Chris Jericho stood over him with the baseball bat, prompting an Aubrey Edwards admonishment that gave 'The Salt of the Earth' enough time to roll Jericho up for the pin.

Max cheated his way into the Inner Circle. He and Jericho are allies now, but this underhand finish means 'Le Champion's' bitterness isn't going away anytime soon. From here, the possibilities are endless.

The bout was all about two absolute motherf*ckers trying to out-motherf*cker each other. For Jericho, it felt like he was almost willing MJF to prove he can be dastardly enough to make it in the Inner Circle, which he clearly can. MJF, meanwhile, entered one of his best performances yet, particularly on defence, from his awesome pop-up bump off the super Hurricanrana to his audible "oh sh*t!" as Jericho hit an early back body drop.

The right story, the right spot on the card, and the right outcome.
