8 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling Slammiversary 2019
5. Not Just Transitional Champions
When The North surprisingly won the World Tag Team Championships just two days before Slammiversary, it was easy to believe that they were nothing more than transitional champions to get the titles from The LAX to The Rascalz. As they proved in this three way match though, that's far from the case. They're here to make sure everyone's aware of that.
Ortiz, Santana, Dez, and Wentz ensured the match was fought at a high pace whenever they were in the ring, whereas Ethan Page and Josh Alexander relied on their strength to keep on top of things. That included Page scoop slamming Wentz off the ropes to break up a pin attempt. How innovative.
After Santana had seemingly suffered an injury at ringside, it left Ortiz to have one of The Rascalz powerbombed on to him as The North retained their newly-won titles. While the injury to the LAX member is unfortunate, it didn't take anything away from the bout as the other five kept things flowing - plus the contest was nearing its conclusion anyway.
Seeing as The Rascalz have now failed on two occasions to win the titles and the fact that LAX are down a member, who'll step up to challenge Page and Alexander in the ensuing weeks?
