8 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling Victory Road 2020
2. All About Them
Tenille Dashwood and Jordynne Grace came into Victory Road at one win apiece. Simply put, had a third match not been booked between them, it would have simply came across as 50/50 booking, which isn't the look you want to give the pair.
This match, however, more than made up for it, as both knockouts knocked the ball just next to the fencing. Not quite out of the park, but oh so close. The callbacks to their previous matches throughout the rubber match were a fantastic touch, with Grace using the ropes to dish out a neckbreaker to Dashwood as revenge for Tenille doing the same to her, as well as avoiding a tree of woe double stomp by yanking the Aussie off the ropes by her hair, were minor inclusions that still managed to add another layer.
A rear naked choke seemingly secured a victory for the former Knockouts Champion, had Kaleb (with a K) not been distracting the referee while Dashwood submitted. One Spotlight Kick later, and Tenille was leaving Victory Road two wins up on 'Thicc Mama Pump'. A much-needed redemption arc for the recently returned star.
With Grace not long out of the title picture following her losses to Deonna Purrazzo, it was undoubtedly Dashwood who needed this win the most. The Knockouts Championship scene post-Bound For Glory is going to look very interesting indeed.
