8 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Dec 27)
5. 'Dat Hot Tag
WWE got things wrong last week when they booked The Miz to take a hot tag instead of Daniel Bryan. It barely registered with the live crowd in Brooklyn and ended up making Miz look like a chump rather than a popular babyface. This week, hot tag traditions were faithfully restored back to former glories.
BRAAAAAAAAAUN!
Detroit went nuts when Kofi Kingston teased and teased tagging in Strowman before fending off Shinsuke Nakamura long enough to make the switch. As soon as both men slapped hands, Michigan acted like it was 1991 and Rick Steiner had just tagged in his brother Scott for some back-breaking suplexes.
Again, a sh*t-eating grin crossed this fan's chops when the big moment happened. It should act as a reminder to everyone that, despite coming across like a jolly giant post-match, Strowman still has a connection with the audience WWE would struggle to spoil completely.
