8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (5 April - Review)
1. Big Announcement Is Literally Massive
As announced by Tony Khan on Dynamite last night, the second 'All In' show will emanate live from the 90,000 capacity Wembley Stadium in London, England. This isn't merely enormous. It feels impossibly big - but that's the challenge, That is the spirit of All In: a defiant pipe dream of a show that dares to wonder how big pro wrestling can be.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the March 17 Dynamite drew 101,000 viewers on ITV4 in the UK. All In II is not unlike AEW promoting a show in the US in an 800,000 capacity stadium, if such a thing existed. This is Khan's boldest move yet, and everybody is either tentatively optimistic or questioning his sanity. As cracking as it was, there was a lot of tarp at Clash At The Castle - held in a smaller venue - and WWE is more known over here than AEW, just as it is in the states. The questioning is the fun part, though. How will AEW fill Wembley? sparks a series of very cool follow-up questions.
Is CM Punk coming back?
Will AEW sign Goldberg?
If All In I brought together the wrestling industry, does that mean the presence of NJPW will be felt?
Is Kenny Omega Vs. Kazuchika Okada V happening?!
