8 Ups & 3 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (1 July)

2. The World Is Theirs

Violent By Design's mantra of "This world belongs to us" came to fruition last night, ambushing Rich Swann, Willie Mack, TJP, and Fallah Bahh in what was essentially a number one contender's match.

As a match, it was en-route to being an incredible outing. Neat spots saw Mack and Bahh lift up TJP and Swann, respectively, for stereo Samoan drops, before everyone failed in their clothesline attempts to create a four-way staredown. Something as simple as this worked tremendously well.

It had barely got started before VBD struck. Started by Deaner, the Eric Young-helmed group picked their four prospective challengers apart ever so smartly. Rhino, Deaner, and Joe Doering all connected with their signature moves, while a delightful storytelling moment saw EY force Swann to watch Willie Mack take a Gore, slightly rekindling their intense feud from last year.

A multi-team titles bout is likely the route going into Slammiversary now, and you know what? Go for it. 17 July will be the first IMPACT event with even one fan in attendance in well over a year. If there's a way to get as many talents on the card as possible, then do it. VBD don't exactly have a clear-cut story for the pay-per-view, given their interference here. It makes perfect sense to do this.
