First off, a supplemental Up for Melina wrestling on next week's IMPACT broadcast. Given that her Knockouts Championship bout with Deonna Purrazzo is going down at NWA's Empowerrr pay-per-view, rather than an IMPACT-promoted event, she didn't necessarily need to wrestle for IMPACT. Her opponent is yet to be named, though expect this to come out over the weekend via spoilers.
For whatever reason, Melina didn't sound convincing in her backstage promo. There were moments where it sounded a tad like she was tearing up at facing Deonna. In a way, there was a reason for this, as she noted how she's been wrestling for twenty years, and only now is there an abundance of promotions collaborating on an event for women.
You can't sell one of Empowerrr's marquee matches on this, though. Melina needs to wrestle a great match next week to rid herself of this promo as it seriously stank. A needlessly long vignette of Deonna training with Alesha Zappitella would have worked had it not been shown in the middle of this. A minor Down for whoever decided that production blunder.
