Chris Bey's first outing as a Bullet Club representative was solid. He wasn't in the spotlight, but alongside Jay White, Bey looked like he belonged in BC, though wearing some form of Club merchandise would have worked better.
The key detail here was every interaction between Jay White and David Finlay ahead of their NEVER Openweight Championship match. Finlay wasn't his usual self as he and Juice Robinson made their entrance, getting up in the face of White. This instantaneously set the tone that Finlay needed to prove something. He did that, scrapping with 'Switchblade' in a wondrous display of pro wrestling.
White didn't need to prevent FinJuice from winning by smacking Robinson with a chair, but after that, everything worked. He lobbed the chair off David's jaw, laying him out with a Blade Runner on the steel. Jay White had a killer instinct in doing so, while Finlay sold beautifully for him to create an empathetic aura. You should have left the match feeling excited about their Resurgence encounter.
No disrespect is intended to Bey and Robinson here, of course; they were fine. The latter's leaping senton was gorgeous. Aside from that, they were just filling the numbers to make this a tag team match.
