8 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Raw (20 Jan - Results & Review)

7. A Fun Little Sprint

WWE Raw Dakota Kai Shayna Baszler

The women’s tag match that took place just before the main event was a good test of two divergent crowd reactions and seeing what happens when they collide.

Pure Fusion Collective is a heat vacuum, sucking up all the energy and enthusiasm in a crowd and leaving it silent and bored. That’s not a comment on their wrestling ability, but the audience’s lack of connection with them as an act. Iyo Sky is a fan favorite who elicits huge reactions every time she flies around the ring.

Damage CTRL and PFC battled in a short little showcase that started slowly but picked up immensely when Sky grabbed the hot tag, running wild on Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler. The closing moments of the match were a solid sprint, with Iyo picking up the win via moonsault.

That really is all there is to say about this inoffensive match. It gets a pass this week, serving to give Dakota Kai a win and keep Sky on our televisions. Mission accomplished.
