8 Ups & 4 Downs For AEW Collision (9 September)

4. Decent For What It Needed To Be

AEW Collision Angelico Rey Fenix

Having battled numerous times in the likes of AAA, Lucha Underground, and wXw, it was fun to see Rey Fenix and Angelico lock horns once more.

Of course, the focus here was on giving Fenix a strong, momentum-building win as he targets the bigger picture of the Blackpool Combat Club, and Angelico proved to be the perfect dance partner in that regard.

Making his Collision debut - in his first AEW match for three months - Angelico did great in generating some decent heat, all the while helping the ever-engaging Rey Fenix do his usual, electric Rey Fenix things.

It was a comprehensive win for Fenix, and that was exactly what it needed to be for the Lucha Bros man. Clearly the former AEW Tag Team Champion is higher on the food chain than Angelico these days, and this match was solely about Fenix notching up a victory as the BCC loom large on the horizon. And for Angelico, a solid outing likes this could well lead to the South African getting more opportunities on Collision.
