8 Ups & 4 Downs For AEW Collision (May 18 - Results & Review)

6. Just About Enough From HOOK

AEW Collision Johnny TV HOOK
AEW

HOOK vs. Johnny TV was there simply to give the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil a straightforward win that would qualify him for the triple-threat match for a shot at Chris Jericho's FTW Championship - and it was fine.

One could argue that Johnny TV deserves better than being squashed in just over three minutes, but unfortunately for fans of TV/Morrison/Nitro/Mundo/Impact/Elite/Etc, etc, that is his role these days in AEW. Johnny is the veteran who's there to look good and put younger talents over.

This is another match that could've maybe had a couple more minutes, but it was decent enough in how it at least gave HOOK - discounting his 30-second decimation of Sebastian Wolfe on Wednesday - a first singles win in a non-DQ environment in two months. Of course, it was standard HOOK affair, complete with an array of suplexes and concluding with Johnny TV tapping to the Red Rum.
