8 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Worlds End 2023

1. Adam Cole’s Devil Reveal

That wasn't the only thing slipping. Cole's mask was too. Literally.

Any fears The Devil's reveal would stink before Worlds End were put straight to bed by the execution. Adam Cole was the mysterious character plaguing MJF all along, and now AEW has a new faction to focus on: Cole leads Roderick Strong, The Kingdom and Wardlow in this crusade against Friedman's past transgressions.

That'll surely be the story. MJF has been a world class as*hole to many over the years in All Elite Wrestling, and that was never going to go unpunished. Cole succeeded in making Max drop his guard, but he couldn't stomach losing out to him in historic main events like the one they worked together at Wembley Stadium over in London.

Wednesday's episode of Dynamite will be essential viewing after the way this played out. Cole will likely explain himself, and MJF's broken heart will trigger thoughts of revenge. The Devil's reveal, including the way the lights went out, made for an unreal finish to this pay-per-view.

Well played, AEW. Well played indeed.
